Welcome to My Bio!
Todd Martinez
Director of Marketing and Public Relations & Resident Artist at RimoVision Group
Hello! I’m the Director of Marketing and Public Relations at RimoVision Group, where I also serve on the Board of Directors. My journey in the arts has taken me from the restaurant industry – where I’ve worn many hats as a host, server, and manager – to the vibrant world of live theatre as both an actor and director. After an 18-year hiatus from the stage, I made my professional theatre debut in July 2023 and stepped into directing for the first time in April 2024. Now, as a Resident Artist at RimoVision Group, I’m thrilled to be part of a creative community that inspires me every day. I was also on the team that helped “The Border” win the “Best of Actor’s Company” award at the 2024 Hollywood Fringe Festival. I can also be found on Amazon Prime Video as Dewin in “Totally Ridiculous, Absolutely Possible,” and as Moses & Ra in “The Awkward Tale of Carrot, and Those Who Art in Heaven!”
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology (with an emphasis in Sexology) from California State University, Fullerton, and I’m currently pursuing my Master of Fine Arts in Arts Management (with an emphasis in Theatre Direction) at the University of Oklahoma. My training at the John Robert Powers School of Acting, and in the Theatre Department at California State University, Fullerton has been invaluable in honing my craft.
When I’m not working, you can find me traveling, soaking up live theater, or belting out tunes at karaoke. I’m also passionate about pool and compete in amateur leagues across Riverside and Orange Counties. Since 2020, I’ve volunteered with several non-profit theaters in Orange and Los Angeles counties, contributing to various committees, including Audience Development and Gala Committees.
My main commitment in my theatre career is to foster a safe and inclusive environment. As a pansexual, cis-gendered male, with a degree in Sexology, my focus as an Arts Leader is on explicit, active, and ongoing consent. In the theatre industry, there are so many artists who feel like they cannot say “no” to someone who is considered their superior, or to a coworker, for fear that they may lose their job or not book a job. Creating a safe space where consent is not only mandatory, but made a priority, allows everyone involved to focus on what really matters – the art – rather than focusing on their own safety or comfort. This approach not only enhances creativity but also builds a community where everyone can thrive.
One of my proudest moments was when I assistant-directed a show and had to replace our lead actor just 10 days before opening night. With quick thinking, I cast someone new to the professional stage, and together we created our organization’s most successful production to date.
I’d love to connect! You can reach me through my contact page, where you’ll find my email, cell phone number, and Instagram handle. Let’s create something amazing together!
